How to run enable debuging

In order to enable debugging, stop the app, close out of it completely.

  • Then go into your pictures folder and make a folder called ImageArchiverforTumblr-Likes (if it isn’t already there).

  • In this folder you make a text file with notepad and call it ImageArchiver4Tumblr.log and make sure that the file name extensions is selected so you get .log and not .log.txt, which you can find under the view tab in your folder. Once this is done start up the app and it will start writing to that file the licensing info as well as any exceptions/errors it can (as well as where so I can resolve it asap hopefully)

    • It’s a straight text file and you’re more than welcome to look at it. It will more than likely contain a few dozen exceptions (which are handled by the app, and many are expected as certain functions return errors when you logout, if something doesn’t respond fast enough) As an FYI if you test the video downloading while having the log file there any videos that require authentication will show that there was an exception saying it was age restricted or required login into youtube (you’ll get this a lot considering a lot of people are starting to charge/track who’s watching thus they want to have you login to see it). The log doesn’t record anything other than the error itself and at least in my testing doesn’t include the blog/url/filenames of anything so privacy wise there shouldn’t be anything to be concerned with.

  • Once you’ve run the app and done whichever part of it was crashing not working right, or whatever please email me the file at imagearchiverfortumblr@outlook.com along with the date/time it occurred as the log file keeps a time stamp, in case it’s an intermittent issue.

  • For those where it is not showing the proper licensing or it is not working correctly from that perspective in the app itself switch the media type from images to video back and forth. And then close out and send me the file. (each time it switches back to images it will verify the licensing)

  • You can leave the log file there but it may slow the app down so afterwards I would recommend disabling the debugging.

  • Which is very simple - in order to stop the logging just delete the file.
